MetLife Stadium hosted the inaugural FIFA World Cup halftime show on July 19, 2026, as Spain and Argentina entered overtime in the tournament’s final. The 11-minute production featured a lineup of international artists. Madonna opened the segment with her 2000 single “Music,” escorted onto the field by former Brazilian stars Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. The Muppets followed with a cover of “Seven Nation Army,” accompanied by an orchestral interlude conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

K-pop group BTS performed “Dynamite,” after which actors Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt introduced Justin Bieber, who sang an acoustic version of “Everything Hallelujah” with altered lyrics referencing the World Cup. Shakira and Burna Boy closed the show with the official tournament anthem “Dai Dai.” The finale combined Chris Martin, Shakira, the Muppets and a children’s choir for a rendition of “We Believe,” while a stylized globe displaying the word “Love” was projected onto the field.

Earlier in the day, Jennifer Hudson sang the U.S. national anthem, and a collaborative performance of “Desire” featured Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini. Post Malone also appeared on the field, debuting a new track and performing “Sunflower” with Swae Lee.
