Испания победила Аргентину со счётом 1-0 в дополнительное время и выиграла чемпионат мира

Испания secured its second World Cup championship on Sunday, beating Argentina 1-0 after extra time at MetLife Stadium. Ferran Torres, who entered as a substitute, netted the winning goal in the 106th minute, ending a tightly contested match that saw Argentina reduced to ten men late in regular time.

Rodri, Spain's captain, lifted the trophy and later said, "This is a generation that's making history, but also in the way we did it." Coach Luis de la Fuente praised his side's discipline, noting the team conceded only one goal over 750 minutes of play throughout the tournament.

Argentina's coach Lionel Scaloni acknowledged his team's effort, stating, "If there was a team that could manage to go all the way with the match still undecided, it was us." Goalkeeper Emi Martínez set a final record with 11 saves, though Spain's defense limited Argentina's chances.

The victory extends Spain's unbeaten run to 38 matches and follows a period of success that includes recent Nations League, European Championship and Olympic titles. Spain's squad featured several young players, including winger Lamine Yamal and defender Pau Cubarsí, who were highlighted for their performances.

Individual awards were also handed out: goalkeeper Unai Simón received the Golden Glove, while Rodri was named the tournament's best player with the Golden Ball.
