Apple says iOS 27 public beta improves iPhone performance in over 30 areas

Resumen

Apple's iOS 27 public beta introduces more than 30 software optimizations that speed up tasks such as photo loading, Safari browsing, app launches and AirDrop transfers, and is available for developers and beta testers ahead of a fall release.

Apple announced that the iOS 27 public beta includes more than 30 software changes intended to make iPhone operations faster. The company said the updates improve system capabilities so everyday tasks feel quicker and smoother.

According to Apple, the beta speeds up photo loading by up to 70 percent, accelerates the launch of the Camera app in Low Power Mode, and reduces the time needed to open full-screen views from the Photos widget. Safari sees faster start-page content loading, improved JavaScript handling and quicker web-app performance. Mail, Music, Freeform, Health and Workout apps also receive faster loading and response times.

Other listed improvements include up to 30 percent faster app launches, up to 80 percent faster AirDrop transfers, quicker AirPlay connections to Apple TV and HomePod, faster NFC reading, and reduced latency for Voice Control and Assistive Access modes. The update also speeds up HomeKit accessory pairing, smart-home updates, emoji and sticker keyboard loading, and multilingual handwriting processing.

Apple noted that iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone models back to the iPhone 11. In internal testing on an iPhone 11 Pro Max, the company measured app launch speeds up to 30 percent faster compared with iOS 26.4.2. The beta is currently available to developers and public testers, with a full release planned for later this fall.
