Thunder trade Lu Dort to Hawks; Zaccharie Risacher moves to Mavericks in three-team deal

Summary

Oklahoma City receives three second-round picks, Atlanta acquires Lu Dort and Ryan Nembhard, and Dallas adds former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher as part of a three-team transaction.

Oklahoma City Thunder have sent forward Lu Dort to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team trade that also sends former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks. The Thunder will receive three future second-round draft selections, while the Hawks acquire Dort and guard Ryan Nembhard. Dallas adds Risacher, who was drafted by Atlanta in 2024.

Dort, a 27-year-old who spent his entire career with Oklahoma City and was a member of the 2025 NBA champion team, averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 69 games last season. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2025.

Risacher, the 21-year-old former top pick, posted 12.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a rookie, earning All-Rookie First Team honors, but his production dipped to 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in his second season.

Nembhard, the younger brother of Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, went undrafted in 2025 and previously played for the Mavericks, averaging 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in his rookie campaign.

"OKC picked up Dort's player option worth $17.7 million and then flipped him for three draft picks," the trade report noted, adding that the Thunder now hold seven future second-round picks, a $17 million trade exception, and have reduced payroll by $224 million.

The Hawks, who finished the season 46-36 after trading star point guard Trae Young, are projected to retain over $40 million in cap space for the next offseason, providing flexibility to address roster needs.
