Antonelli tops final practice as Hamilton crashes at Spa

सारांश

Kimi Antonelli set the fastest lap in the final practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix, while Lewis Hamilton damaged his Ferrari in a crash at the end of the session.

Kimi Antonelli recorded the quickest time in the final practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix, posting a 1:45.990 on soft tyres. His lap stood eight tenths of a second ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who crashed on the last lap after carrying excessive speed through the second part of Les Fagnes and clipping the wall with his rear-right tyre.

Hamilton's accident will require Ferrari to assess and possibly repair damage to the car's rear wheel assembly and gearbox before qualifying. Earlier in the session, Hamilton had briefly broken the 1:47 barrier with a 1:46.789 lap, but his effort was eclipsed by Antonelli and later by Lando Norris, who edged Max Verstappen by 0.009 seconds.

Verstappen improved on his second run, coming within 0.148 seconds of Antonelli's benchmark, while George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri and the two Audis also posted competitive times within the top ten. Red Bull rookie Isack Hadjar recovered from a pit-lane stall to finish tenth, reporting difficulty heating his front tyres.

The session concluded with Antonelli on pole for the final practice leaderboard, followed by Norris, Verstappen, Russell and Hamilton.
