Trump Media launches Truth API to sell real-time Truth Social posts to Wall Street

Summary

Trump Media & Technology Group announced a new service that will deliver selected Truth Social posts to financial firms within milliseconds, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest.

Trump Media & Technology Group, the company owned by President Donald Trump, said it will offer a subscription service called “Truth API” that provides Wall Street firms with rapid access to posts from the president’s Truth Social platform. The service, slated to begin as early as August, is intended to deliver the content in milliseconds using industry-standard delivery methods.

"Markets already move on Truth Social posts," said Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer of TMTG, adding that the company expects the API to become a recurring revenue source and create lasting value for shareholders.

The company described the offering as a way to curate “high-impact statements” from the platform, which has been used by Trump to announce policy changes, comment on international meetings and provide updates on geopolitical events. TMTG said several clients have already signed up ahead of the launch.

Trump is the majority shareholder of the firm, while his assets are held in a trust managed by his children during his presidency. Critics note that Truth Social largely features content from Trump, his allies and supporters, and that the platform rarely includes independent news sources, raising concerns about whether the president’s posts could be influenced by the potential financial benefit.

The White House and TMTG did not respond to requests for comment. Existing market-data services already aggregate social-media posts for investors, but it is unclear how the new API will differ from those tools or what fees will be charged.
