LeBron James cites "trust the process" while fielding free-agency speculation

LeBron James said he wants to join a franchise that shares his commitment to daily championship preparation, adding the phrase "trust the process" during a live segment of The Shop at Fanatics Fest in New York. He noted he has used the expression since his 2003 draft and was unaware of its later association with the 76ers and Joel Embiid.

James, who informed the Los Angeles Lakers last month that he intends to play elsewhere next season, said he is not ready to announce his destination and will not keep fans waiting much longer. NBA insider Shams Charania said the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are among the teams considered realistic options for James.

The 76ers entered the free-agency discussion after acquiring Jaylen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics, creating a roster that includes Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and a high-draft-pick prospect. Analysts suggest the team could offer James a strong chance to pursue a fifth championship in his 24th season.
