McGregor Refutes Claims of Substance Use Ahead of UFC 329 Defeat
Conor McGregor denied using any mind-altering substances before his loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329 and said a leg injury sustained in the bout will require surgery.
Conor McGregor posted on social media to reject allegations that he had taken mind-altering substances before his return to the Octagon at UFC 329, where he was defeated by Max Holloway. In a tweet that was later removed, the fighter said he has not used any such substances since a right-leg injury he suffered in the first round of the fight, which he said will require surgical repair.
McGregor also told fans that he entered the bout in peak physical condition, despite the fight ending after 69 seconds when he appeared to injure himself while attempting a jumping roundhouse kick.
He indicated that he plans to fulfill the final fight of his UFC contract after recovering from the injury, acknowledging a lengthy rehabilitation process ahead.
