iOS 27 beta rolls out to all iPhone models that supported iOS 26, with select features limited to newer devices
Apple's iOS 27 public beta is available for all iPhone models that ran iOS 26, but advanced AI features and on-device models are restricted to the latest hardware.
Apple has released the iOS 27 public beta, which can be installed on any iPhone currently running iOS 26. The update supports the same lineup of devices as the previous version, ranging from the iPhone 11 series to the newest iPhone 17 models.
All compatible phones receive general enhancements such as new child-safety options, design tweaks to the Liquid Glass interface, and updates to core apps including Messages, FaceTime, Maps and Music.
"The redesigned Siri interface, a standalone Siri app, and photo-editing tools like Extend and Reframe are available on iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro," a company spokesperson said.
A smaller group of devices equipped with 12 GB of RAM—specifically the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air—can access Apple’s most powerful on-device AI model. This enables a system-wide enhanced dictation experience and allows users to customize Siri’s voice with varied pace and expressivity.
