One person killed in ICE-related shooting in Biddeford, Maine
Maine authorities confirmed a fatal shooting involving ICE agents in Biddeford, prompting state and federal investigations.
Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau said a person was killed in a shooting that involved Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Biddeford on Monday. He added that the state police, the Department of Public Safety and the FBI are expected to investigate the incident. Biddeford police confirmed a "police incident" in the area but said there was no ongoing threat to the public and did not release further details. The shooting follows a fatal ICE shooting in Houston less than a week earlier, which has intensified calls for accountability of immigration agents. Federal officials from ICE and the Department of Homeland Security have not yet responded to requests for comment.
