A Flamingo Air Cessna 402 crashed on North Andros Island, killing ten people, including five members of the Da Pond Band, and leading authorities to temporarily suspend the airline's licence.

Bahamian officials said a Flamingo Air Cessna 402 went down on Friday on North Andros Island, resulting in ten fatalities. The aircraft had taken off from Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau and was headed for San Andros Airport when it crashed, according to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority of the Bahamas.

The Bahamas Musicians and Entertainers Union reported that five members of the Da Pond Band were among those killed. The incident follows another Flamingo Air plane that caught fire in Nassau on the same day, prompting authorities to temporarily suspend the airline's operating licence.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
