Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg and LJ Cryer lead summer-league victories over Mavericks

Resumen

Yaxel Lendeborg posted a double-double and LJ Cryer scored 25 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 101-90 in an NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas.

Yaxel Lendeborg recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks 101-90 at the Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday. The Warriors' top draft pick also posted a plus-26 rating, and teammate LJ Cryer added a team-high 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including five three-pointers.

"Felt amazing. Felt good to go out here against Rez and win," Lendeborg said in an interview with ESPN after the game.

Lendeborg, the 11th overall pick, highlighted his versatility, noting that he plans to add muscle to increase his physicality for the NBA. He also described his attempt to play physically against fellow Michigan alumnus LJ Johnson, who led the Mavericks with 27 points.

"I tried to big-boy him," Lendeborg added, describing his effort against Johnson.

Warriors summer-league coach Khalid Robinson praised Cryer’s decision-making and defensive effort.

"Obviously LJ’s shot making was great, but it was just his decision making. He picked his spots really well… and he had a good level of physicality defensively," Robinson said.

Cryer, who signed a two-way contract with Golden State in December, scored 16 of his points in the second quarter, helping the Warriors build a 20-point halftime lead. The team will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday at 3 p.m. PT.
