MTA bus crash in Pikesville injures more than 30, one critically

Summary

A Maryland transit bus collided with multiple vehicles and a FedEx building on Reisterstown Road, leaving over 30 people hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

More than 30 people were injured after an MTA bus struck a series of cars and then a FedEx building on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, Maryland, shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Baltimore County Fire Chief Joseph Dixon said the bus hit 11 vehicles before crashing into the building, toppling a telephone pole and bringing down power lines.

The crash forced several victims, including the bus driver, onto stretchers and required transport to local hospitals; at least 33 patients were taken for treatment, with one reported in critical condition. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, and nearby residents assisted by offering water and comfort to those in shock.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore said his administration is monitoring the incident and coordinating with county officials to provide support. County Councilman Julian Jones expressed sympathy for the victims and their families. Reisterstown Road was fully reopened early Tuesday morning.
