iOS 27 beta 3 adds shortcut for adjusting AirPods Adaptive mode intensity

Summary

Apple's iOS 27 beta 3 introduces a new setting that lets users quickly modify the ambient-noise level in AirPods Adaptive mode directly from the Listening Mode menu.

Apple’s iOS 27 beta 3 update includes a new Listening Mode option that simplifies adjusting the intensity of AirPods’ Adaptive mode. The change allows users to tap the AirPods entry in Settings and see four Listening Mode choices—Off, Transparency, Adaptive, and Noise Cancellation. Selecting Adaptive now shows a small dot on each side of the label, enabling a single tap to make the blend of noise cancellation and transparency either lighter or stronger, replacing the previous method that required navigating to Settings > Bluetooth and using a slider.

The new interface does not provide a continuous slider; users can keep the default setting or choose one of the two preset intensity levels. Apple has not confirmed whether the feature will appear in the final iOS 27 release, as it was added during the beta testing phase and may be altered based on developer and public feedback.
