Google Photos gets floating bottom bar on Android devices
Google has begun rolling out a new floating bottom-bar design for its Photos app on Android, a change first introduced on iOS earlier this year.
Google started testing a redesigned interface for its Photos app on iOS in February, featuring a floating "pill"-shaped bottom bar that replaces the traditional attached bar. The update has now started appearing on Android devices, though the rollout is limited. On a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, the app shows a floating bar with tabs for Photos, Collections and Create, plus a separate button for searching. The functionality remains unchanged; only the visual style differs, mirroring similar updates seen in Google Chat and Google Finance. The new design is not yet visible on all devices; a Pixel 10 Pro running the same app version still displays the older bar. Users are advised to wait as the update continues to propagate.
