MLB announces 2026 All-Star Game rosters for both leagues

Major League Baseball released the rosters for the 2026 All-Star Game on Saturday, naming starters, pitchers and reserves for both the American and National Leagues. The Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies each have five players selected, the most from any club. The Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman earned his 10th All-Star appearance, while Shohei Ohtani topped the fan vote for his sixth selection. Braves pitcher Chris Sale also marked his 10th All-Star game.

Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper was added as a “Legend Pick” by Commissioner Rob Manfred, giving him his ninth All-Star nod. Angels star Mike Trout, voted in as an American League starter, leads all players with 12 selections.

The rosters include several first-time All-Stars. Oakland’s catcher Michael Langeliers will start, becoming the first A’s catcher to do so since 1988. Toronto’s Vladimir Clement joins the starting lineup after posting a .753 OPS and 1.1 WAR last season. New York Yankees rookie pitcher Michael Schlittler, who ranks third among qualified pitchers with a 2.08 ERA, also makes his debut.

In the National League, Atlanta’s rookie catcher Riley Baldwin, the 2025 NL Rookie of the Year, was selected despite missing a month with an oblique strain. Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper and Dodgers outfielder Aaron Pages are among the first-time position-player selections.

Veteran players also featured prominently. Mike Trout, who missed time with a right hamstring strain, is expected to be ready for the game. The Athletics’ Nick Kurtz replaces Yordan Alvarez, who declined his selection to rest a lower-back injury. Reliever Aroldis Chapman tied for the second-most All-Star appearances among relievers with nine selections.

The league noted that rosters may change if selected players withdraw due to injury or other reasons, with replacements to be announced as needed.
