GMA anchors describe Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's intimate Madison Square Garden wedding

Résumé

Co-anchors of Good Morning America said the ceremony turned Madison Square Garden into a personal venue for about 1,000 guests, with the couple writing their own vows and close friends and family in attendance.

Good Morning America co-anchors who attended the July 3 ceremony said Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce transformed Madison Square Garden into a surprisingly intimate setting for their wedding. Robin Roberts described the event as “intimate,” noting that the couple invited neighbors and high-school friends, while Michael Strahan called it “their dream wedding” and praised the overall experience.

Roberts and George Stephanopoulos said Swift and Kelce wrote their own vows, which were presented in small books. The ceremony, officiated by actor-comedian Adam Sandler, was attended by roughly 1,000 guests, according to the anchors. Swift’s brother Austin served as “man of honor” and Kelce’s brother Jason acted as best man, with no other members of a wedding party reported.

Stephanopoulos likened the transformation of the arena, home to the Knicks and Rangers, to a garden inside the venue, saying it felt “as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden.” Roberts added that the arena was unrecognizable after the décor changes. A lighting display on the arena’s façade read “JUST & T MARRIED,” referencing the couple’s first names.

Among the attendees were celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ethan Hawke, Abby Wambach, and NFL players including Matthew Stafford, Baker Mayfield, Cooper Kupp, and several Kansas City Chiefs teammates. Stevie Nicks performed during the celebration, according to Roberts.
