Apple is expected to release a redesigned entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by its upcoming M7 chip in the first half of 2027, shortening the usual rollout gap between high-end and entry models.

Apple is preparing a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named K104, that could arrive in the first half of 2027. The 14-inch laptop is slated to adopt the same design language being introduced in the company’s higher-end MacBook models, which are expected to feature touch-screen capability later this year.

According to Bloomberg, the new entry model will be powered by the forthcoming M7 processor, while a separate entry-level version with the current M6 chip and existing chassis is planned for release in fall 2026. The high-end MacBook Pros are expected to launch in fall 2026 with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips and the new design, followed by a high-end refresh with M7 Pro and M7 Max chips in spring 2027.

"Apple is also preparing a revamped entry-level MacBook Pro, code-named K104, for as early as the first half of next year. The 14-inch laptop will adopt a new design in line with what Apple is preparing for higher-end MacBooks with touch screens due between the end of this year and early next year," Bloomberg reported.

The redesign is anticipated to include a thinner chassis, OLED displays with touch support and possibly a Dynamic Island interface. Analysts note that the accelerated rollout shortens the typical six-month lag between high-end and entry-level redesigns.
