Masked demonstrators chant "Reclaim America" near Washington D.C. landmarks on July 4
Video footage captured on Independence Day showed a group wearing face masks and carrying Confederate and white-supremacist symbols while marching near Union Station and Eastern Market in Washington, D.C., chanting slogans against immigration.
Video recorded near Union Station on July 4 showed a crowd of masked individuals marching and repeatedly chanting “Reclaim America, reclaim America.” The footage, obtained by WTOP reporter Mitchell Miller, captured participants carrying Confederate flags and other banners that resembled the logo of Patriot Front, a group identified by the Anti-Defamation League as a white-supremacist organization. Additional clips posted on social media depicted the same group moving near the Eastern Market Metro station. Getty Images photographer Finn Gomez also shared a photograph of masked persons wearing gear associated with Patriot Front while riding the Metro.
"Reclaim America, reclaim America," the crowd chanted, according to the video. The Anti-Defamation League has classified Patriot Front as a white-supremacist organization.
