Holloway and Gaethje Discuss Possible Future Rematch Ahead of UFC 329

摘要

Max Holloway said he is focused on his upcoming bout with Conor McGregor, while Justin Gaethje expressed interest in a potential lightweight title fight with Holloway after defeating Ilia Topuria.

Max Holloway said he is concentrating on his July 11 fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 329, but acknowledged the possibility of a future bout with Justin Gaethje. Gaethje, who recently reclaimed the undisputed lightweight title by defeating Ilia Topuria, told Jim Rome that he felt he had avenged his earlier knockout loss to Holloway.

"Max definitely knocked me out," Gaethje said.

Holloway, speaking on behalf of Stake, noted the complexity of the matchup calculations and praised Gaethje’s performance against Topuria, saying he was surprised by the upset.

"People counting Justin out, I was tripping out," Holloway said. "He proved me wrong. He stuck to his game plan and took calculated risks."

Gaethje added that he plans to watch the UFC 329 main event from the front row and expressed a desire to fight McGregor again. Holloway said the potential rematch with Gaethje remains a possibility, depending on how the UFC arranges future fights, and reiterated his focus on securing a victory over McGregor.
