Ex-husband seeks court reconsideration of denied restraining order in custody dispute

Résumé

Tate Paul has filed a motion asking a judge to revisit a recent denial of his request for a temporary restraining order, submitting text messages and call logs as new evidence.

A Los Angeles judge previously denied Tate Paul’s request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) in his custody dispute with former wife Taylor Frankie Paul. The ruling came after Paul alleged that his ex-spouse’s behavior had become erratic and that he feared for the children’s safety.

Following the denial, Paul filed a motion for reconsideration, attaching several exhibits that include text messages he says demonstrate Taylor’s refusal to explain an inpatient treatment episode, her lack of communication about a mental-health crisis, and an admission that she ceased assaulting boyfriend Dakota Mortensen when he recorded their interactions. The filing also contains call logs and messages involving Taylor’s immediate family, which Paul hopes will persuade the court to reverse its earlier decision.

"The judge’s ruling is clear and notes that she recently had the children for a week," a source close to Taylor Frankie Paul told reporters.

The source added that the new evidence is part of a broader campaign by Mortensen and his associates to intimidate Paul, noting concerns about the impact on the children.

The court has not yet ruled on the motion for reconsideration.
