Apple says iOS 27 public beta will arrive in mid-July

Summary

Apple confirmed that the iOS 27 public beta is slated for release in July, likely around the middle of the month, ahead of the full iOS 27 launch in September.

Apple announced that the public beta of iOS 27 is expected to be released in July, with mid-month dates such as July 13 mentioned as possible launch points. The company has already been distributing the third developer beta and anticipates the public beta to follow about a week later, following a pattern observed in previous iOS releases.

Historically, public betas for major iOS updates have appeared roughly a week after the third developer beta, with past releases arriving on July 11 (iOS 16), July 12 (iOS 17), July 15 (iOS 18) and July 24 (iOS 26). While last year’s iOS 26 public beta arrived after four developer betas, that has been an exception rather than the rule.

The upcoming iOS 27 update will introduce a new AI-enhanced Siri, refinements to the Liquid Glass interface, and a customizable design slider, along with bug fixes and performance improvements. Updates to core Apple apps such as Messages, Notes, Photos, Calendar, Maps, Music, and Safari are also included, as well as enhancements for CarPlay and AirPods. The update will be compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 26, though many of the new features rely on Apple Intelligence and will be limited to newer models.
