Celtics trade Jaylen Brown to 76ers for Paul George and future draft picks
Boston sent forward Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia in exchange for veteran Paul George and several draft selections, ending the decade-long Brown-Tatum partnership.
The Boston Celtics announced Wednesday that they have traded 29-year-old forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. In return, Boston will receive 36-year-old forward Paul George along with a collection of future draft picks, including first-round selections in 2028 and 2031 and two second-round picks. The assets are projected to affect the team’s roster beyond the 2026-27 season.
The move concludes the ten-year period during which Brown and Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to a championship in 2024 and a Finals appearance in 2022. Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said the organization values Brown’s contributions, stating, "Jaylen Brown is a big part of us. He’s been amazing. We have a great relationship."
