U.S. men's team set to meet Bosnia-Herzegovina in World Cup round of 32
The United States will play Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday in San Francisco, with the winner advancing to face Belgium in the round of 16.
The United States men's national soccer team will open its knockout campaign on Wednesday, July 1, against Bosnia-Herzegovina at 8 p.m. ET in San Francisco. The match follows a 2-1 group-stage record that included victories over Paraguay and Australia and a loss to Turkey after the team had already secured advancement.
The winner of the round-of-32 fixture will meet Belgium, which defeated Senegal 3-2 earlier in the day, in a round-of-16 match scheduled for July 6. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
The round of 32 began with Brazil defeating Japan 2-1 and Paraguay eliminating Germany on penalties, while Morocco advanced past the Netherlands.
The U.S. game will be shown live on FOX.
"The winner of the U.S. and Bosnia-Herzegovina matchup on Wednesday will face off against Belgium, which defeated Senegal 3-2 in an earlier match Wednesday," the tournament schedule notes.
