NBA analyst says Jaylen Brown could still be a viable trade target for Portland
Bobby Marks told ESPN that the Portland Trail Blazers have the roster depth and draft assets to potentially acquire Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown, despite recent trade talks involving other players.
NBA analyst Bobby Marks told ESPN that a trade for Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown remains possible for the Portland Trail Blazers. He noted that Portland now fields five starting-level guards—Ja Morant, Damian Lillard, Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe—and will not need to play all of them simultaneously. Marks added that the Blazers possess sufficient draft capital to satisfy Boston’s likely demands, and that the Celtics might lower their asking price as free-agency options diminish.
"The Blazers now have five starting guards: Morant, Lillard, Holiday, Henderson, and Sharpe. They’re not going to play them all," Marks said.
"The Blazers have enough draft capital to meet Boston’s demands," he continued.
"Boston may be willing to lower their ask since free agency is eating up other options as teams settle into more permanent form," Marks explained.
