Blake Lively Seeks Over $8 Million in Legal Fees from Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer
Actress Blake Lively has filed a request for a judge to award her roughly $7.5 million in attorney fees and $540,000 in court costs from Justin Baldoni and the production company Wayfarer after his $400 million defamation suit was dismissed.
Actress Blake Lively has asked a court to order Justin Baldoni and the production company Wayfarer to pay more than $8 million in legal expenses. The request, filed in recent court documents, seeks $7,495,526.87 for attorney fees and $539,514.01 for court costs incurred while defending against Baldoni’s $400 million defamation claim, which a judge dismissed.
The judge previously ruled that Baldoni must cover Lively’s legal fees, although her request for additional damages was denied. The fee award follows a settlement between Lively and Baldoni reached in May, shortly before a trial on breach-of-contract and retaliation claims was scheduled.
Lively had alleged that Baldoni and his team conducted a smear campaign that caused her financial losses and had also raised sexual-harassment allegations, but most of those claims were dismissed, leaving only the breach-of-contract and retaliation matters.
The court’s final decision on the fee request will determine whether Baldoni and Wayfarer must pay the amount sought by Lively.
