Apple rumored to unveil iPhone 18, 18e and Air 2 with similar 1.5K LTPO OLED displays in spring 2027

Resumen

Leaks suggest the upcoming iPhone 18 lineup will feature 6.3-inch, 6.12-inch and 6.55-inch LTPO OLED screens with 1.5K resolution, while refresh rates remain unchanged from the previous generation.

A leak posted on the Chinese social platform Weibo by Digital Chat Station indicates Apple may introduce three new iPhone models in early 2027, likely around April. The lineup would include the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, following the September launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra.

According to the report, the iPhone 18 is expected to have a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a "1.5K" resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 18e would use a slightly smaller 6.12-inch LTPS OLED panel, also at "1.5K" resolution but limited to 60 Hz. The iPhone Air 2 is said to feature a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED screen, again with "1.5K" resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The leak notes that the iPhone 18e’s screen size is marginally larger—by 0.02 inches—than that of the iPhone 17e, while the Air 2’s panel is 0.05 inches larger than the original iPhone Air. The iPhone 18 retains the same dimensions as the iPhone 17. Refresh rates for each model appear unchanged from the prior generation, meaning the iPhone 18e would not receive a 120 Hz panel.

"If you were hoping that the iPhone 18e would be the first 'e' series device to get a 120 Hz refresh rate, we're sorry," the leak states.
