Kate Gosselin posts upbeat TikTok as son Collin prepares memoir on his childhood
The former reality-TV star shared a light-hearted video about her dogs, while her son Collin Gosselin promotes a forthcoming memoir detailing his experiences growing up in the family.
Kate Gosselin posted a TikTok on Sunday featuring an update on her rescue dog Koda and another pet, Meika, and noting the hot, humid weather. The video did not address the media attention surrounding her son Collin’s upcoming memoir, which is scheduled for release on Oct. 13.
Collin, 22, has been promoting the book titled “In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.” The publisher’s description says the memoir will recount his alleged experiences of being confined in a basement cell and subjected to antipsychotic medication as a child. In an Instagram Stories clip, Collin referenced a past interview with his mother and suggested a lie-detector test, saying he will provide detailed accounts in the book.
According to a Daily Mail report, an insider said Kate was unaware that the memoir was being prepared and had not spoken to Collin since he was placed in institutional care in 2018, when her ex-husband Jon Gosselin received sole custody. The Gosselin family, known from the TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” includes Collin’s sextuplet siblings and older twins.
"I have a really cute video of Koda and the trainer’s kids — very cute," Gosselin said in the TikTok.
"Anyway, have a great day, enjoy the video, and I think we’re under 10 days until we get Koda back. Can’t wait," she added.
The memoir’s release is expected to draw further public attention to the family’s past and ongoing disputes.
