U.S. Men's Team Faces Four-Game Road to World Cup Final
The United States must win four consecutive knockout matches, starting July 1, to reach the World Cup final, with each round scheduled at venues across the country.
The United States will open its World Cup knockout campaign on July 1 against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. A victory would advance the team to the round of 16, where it will meet the winner of the Belgium-Senegal match scheduled for July 6 at Seattle’s Lumen Field.
If the U.S. wins that encounter, it will move on to the quarterfinals on July 10 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, facing the team that emerges from the group containing Portugal, Croatia, Spain and Austria.
A quarterfinal triumph would set up a semifinal clash on July 14 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, with the winner earning a place in the final on July 19 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
The path requires four straight wins, each at a different venue, to reach the tournament’s championship match.
