Samsung to unveil Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra on July 26
Samsung announced that its next foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, will be unveiled on July 26, with sales beginning in early August.
Samsung said it will officially launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series on July 26, 2026, with the devices reaching stores on August 7 in South Korea and other major markets. The lineup includes a standard Z Fold 8 and a higher-priced Z Fold 8 Ultra, both featuring a wider inner display, thicker ultra-thin glass for improved durability, and higher pixel density to reduce crease visibility.
Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and house a 4,800 mAh battery that supports 45 W wired fast charging. Camera hardware consists of dual 10 MP front sensors and a 50 MP main sensor with ultra-wide capability.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, ultra-wideband, NFC and USB-Type C. An IP48 rating provides water resistance, while a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers round out the feature set.
"The refinements focus on usability and durability while keeping the overall design language familiar," a Samsung spokesperson said.
Industry observers note that the Ultra variant offers only modest upgrades over the standard model, prompting questions about its price justification. Samsung is expected to run a short pre-registration period and may offer early-buyer incentives such as storage upgrades or accessories.
