Bucks favor Heat's offer in Giannis trade talks

Milwaukee received multiple trade proposals for forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, but only the offers from the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics remained viable because the player indicated willingness to sign a long-term extension with either club. Sources familiar with the discussions told ESPN reporters that at least four other bids fell through when Antetokounmpo declined to commit to a new contract with the Bucks.
After the Heat and Celtics submitted their final offers on Sunday, the Bucks' front office debated the options on Monday. One insider said the meeting featured "spirited debates" among executives, with differing opinions on the best path forward.
General manager Jon Horst reportedly favored the Heat's proposal, which he presented to ownership alongside the Celtics' offer. Miami's deal was strengthened this offseason by the inclusion of the No. 13 overall draft pick, a component not available in February. Boston's offer lacked young players such as Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman, factors that helped tip the balance toward Miami.
