Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold charged with kidnapping and armed robbery
Detroit Lions player Terrion Arnold has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of kidnapping and armed robbery in connection with an alleged February assault in Tampa, Florida, which he denies.
Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested in Tampa after a police affidavit alleged he orchestrated an assault on three men he accused of stealing property from his Florida Airbnb. According to the affidavit, Arnold instructed two women, then 18 and 19 years old, to invite one of the victims to an apartment under the pretense of sexual activity. Once inside, the women allegedly emerged from a closet and assaulted the victims while a third victim waited in a car outside. One of the women is said to have live-streamed the attack, which was shared with Arnold and two other individuals traveling from Tallahassee.
The victims were reportedly beaten, pistol-whipped, threatened with death and had their personal belongings, including wallets, phones, jackets, cash and jewelry valued at about $6,260, taken. After the assault, they were forced into a vehicle and fled the scene, later reporting the incident to police. Police say the victims sustained visible injuries.
Arnold, 23, has been charged with four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, offenses that carry a potential life sentence. He entered a not-guilty plea through his attorney, Timothy Jansen, and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday for a hearing on pre-trial detention. Prosecutors have requested that he remain in custody pending trial.
"There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations," said Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, which represents Arnold.
"Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication," White added.
Arnold, who completed his second NFL season in 2025 and has started 22 games, appeared briefly in a green vest at Falkenburg Road Jail, maintaining a stoic demeanor.
