Julius Randle, pick head to Nets in three-team deal involving Bulls
The Minnesota Timberwolves will send forward Julius Randle and the 28th overall pick in the 2026 draft to the Brooklyn Nets, with the Chicago Bulls receiving center Nic Claxton as part of a three-team trade.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to trade forward Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team transaction that also involves the Chicago Bulls. Under the terms, the Nets will acquire Randle and the first-round selection, while the Timberwolves will receive the No. 33 pick in the second round of the same draft. The Bulls are set to receive center Nic Claxton from Brooklyn.
The move creates a $33 million trade exception for Minnesota and provides additional salary-cap flexibility, allowing the team to pursue a new contract for guard Ayo Dosunmu and explore other free-agency options. Randle, a three-time All-Star, is heading to his fifth NBA team after stints with New York, the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans and Minnesota, where he posted 21.1 points per game this season but shot 39 % from the field and 24 % from three-point range in the playoffs. Claxton, who has spent his entire seven-year career with the Nets, averaged 11.7 points last season.
