Panthers trade for forward Brady Tkachuk in multi-pick deal with Senators

Resumen

Florida acquired Ottawa captain Brady Tkachuk for four draft picks, while the Senators received three first-round and one second-round selections.

Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Zito announced that the team has acquired forward Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators. In return, Ottawa will receive Florida's 2026 first-round pick, Tampa Bay's 2026 first-round pick (acquired by Florida from Seattle), Florida's 2027 second-round pick and a top-10-protected 2029 first-round pick.

"Brady is a dynamic competitor and one of the most physical and relentless forwards in the league," Zito said. "A proven leader and exactly the type of player we want in our locker room, he strives to make everyone around him better both on and off the ice. We’re thrilled to welcome Brady to South Florida to join our group as we continue our pursuit of championship hockey."

Tkachuk, 26, posted 59 points in 60 games for Ottawa last season and recorded a career-best 57.6 percent face-off win rate. Over his seven-year NHL career, he has amassed 463 points in 572 games and served as Ottawa's captain for five seasons. He has reached the 20-goal mark in seven of his eight seasons, including three consecutive 30-goal campaigns.

Internationally, Tkachuk won a gold medal with the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics, contributing three goals and two assists in six games. He also captured gold at the 2016 U-18 World Championship and bronze at the 2018 U-20 tournament.

The trade reunites Brady with his brother Matthew Tkachuk, who also plays for Florida, and adds a player with a family legacy that includes former NHL star Keith Tkachuk.
