Concertgoer dies after falling at Madison Square Garden during Goose performance
A 51-year-old man fell from an elevated area inside Madison Square Garden during a Goose concert on Saturday night and was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
Police said a 51-year-old male concertgoer fell from an elevated position inside Madison Square Garden at about 9:51 p.m. on Saturday and was found unconscious. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The distance of the fall was not disclosed.
The band Goose, performing as part of its Summer 2026 tour, issued a statement expressing sympathy for those affected. > "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support."
Venue staff cleared at least seven rows around the incident area, according to photos shared on social media. Goose completed its full 16-song set and concluded the concert shortly before midnight. The performance was also livestreamed on a major music streaming platform.
