Two former major champions, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, failed to make the cut at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills after rounds of 70 and 68 followed by higher scores on Friday.
Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm were among the players who did not advance to the weekend at the 2026 U.S. Open held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. The cut was set at four strokes over par, requiring a score of +4 or better after two rounds.
DeChambeau opened with a 70, one stroke under par, but posted a 75 in the second round, finishing at +5 and missing the cut for the third consecutive major. Rahm recorded a 68 in the first round, two strokes under par, but struggled on the back nine of his second round, carding a 78 and finishing at +6, also missing the cut.
Other notable players who failed to reach the weekend included Viktor Hovland, Rickie Fowler, Harris English, Shane Lowry, Patrick Cantlay, Si Woo Kim, Sepp Straka, J.J. Spaun, Adam Scott and Brooks Koepka, who finished between +5 and +10.
