The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported that the Celtics prefer a straight player-for-player exchange, noting that Brown would be essential for Milwaukee to consider the deal.

"The Celtics have gone to great lengths to avoid the elephant in the room here, but Jaylen Brown would need to be part of any deal for Antetokounmpo," Amick wrote. "If Boston had its way, the conversation would start and end there with a one-for-one swap of fellow All-Stars who are still in their respective primes."

Brown, who finished sixth in MVP voting after a strong season, is viewed as a key asset, though analysts question whether he is seen as a franchise-defining scorer. The Bucks’ strategy remains uncertain; they could either build around Brown or trade him for younger players and draft picks, according to Amick.
