Ring footage shows missing South Carolina woman appearing confused before disappearance

A Ring doorbell video released to police shows Elena Moore, a 27-year-old South Carolina resident, appearing confused while trying to enter a home near a Lexington gym on June 4, a week before she was reported missing. The footage captures a DoorDash driver delivering food, which Moore takes and hands to the homeowner, John Moore, before attempting to follow him inside.

"Once I got the food from her, and I turned to walk back in the house, whenever she started to walk in the house with me, she seemed really confused and disoriented about where she was or whatever she was doing," John Moore said. Sarah Burleson, who lives about a half-mile from the gym, later saw Moore rummaging through a neighbor’s packages and said Moore told her she did not know what she was doing. Moore, who worked at a CVS and as a bartender, had recently been released from a mental-health facility and was reportedly experiencing relationship difficulties with her husband, Brannon Slice, who filed the missing-person report. Police have said Slice is not a person of interest. Investigators searched a wooded area near the Planet Fitness where Moore was last seen but have not located her. Community members have raised concerns after a police post mistakenly announced that Moore had been found and was later removed, questioning the thoroughness of surveillance-camera collection in the area.
