Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, 84, was admitted to a hospital on Sunday morning, according to a statement from his office. > "Senator McConnell was admitted to the hospital this morning. He is receiving excellent care," the spokesperson said. The senator's representatives did not answer questions about his current health status or the reason for the admission. McConnell's health has been a recurring concern, with a previous eight-day hospitalization in February for flu-like symptoms and multiple falls reported since 2023. That year he suffered a concussion and broken ribs after a fall at a Washington hotel, after which he used a wheelchair as a precaution. Additional incidents included a tumble during a foreign trip to Finland and a fall while disembarking from a plane in Washington. These incidents have raised speculation about his ability to complete his Senate term, which runs until January 2027.
