Summary

New York overcame a 29-point halftime hole to defeat San Antonio 107-106, taking a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

New York rallied from a 29-point deficit to edge San Antonio 107-106 on Wednesday, giving the Knicks a 3-1 advantage in the NBA Finals. OG Anunoby tipped in Jalen Brunson's missed three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to complete the comeback. Brunson finished with 36 points, while Anunoby added 33.

The Spurs had built a 27-point halftime lead and were up 81-52 early in the third quarter, the largest halftime margin by a visiting team in Finals history. Their shooting faltered in the second half, going 3-for-17 from three-point range as the Knicks outscored them 58-30.

"I told OG, as big, as strong, as athletic as he is, he's got to be a monster on the offensive glass tonight," Knicks coach Mike Brown said. "I don't know if there was a play bigger than any other play in the history of Knicks basketball."

Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama, who posted 24 points and 13 rebounds, missed several key shots in the closing minutes. "We weren't the most hungry in the second half," he said.

Spurs coach Mitch Johnson acknowledged the team's disappointment after the loss. The next game is scheduled for Saturday night in San Antonio, with the series set to return to New York for Game 6 on Tuesday.
