Father and twin sons killed in suspected murder‑suicide in Canoga Park
Police say a man, believed to be the father of 10‑year‑old twins, died in a shooting that also claimed the lives of his sons in a Canoga Park apartment complex.
Los Angeles fire crews responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex on Owensmouth Avenue in Canoga Park around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday. Paramedics pronounced three victims dead at the scene, officials said. The Los Angeles Police Department later indicated that the incident appears to be a murder‑suicide, with the deceased suspect likely being the father of the two 10‑year‑old boys who also died. Aerial footage showed a significant law‑enforcement presence surrounding the building adjacent to a baseball field, while onlookers gathered behind police tape. First responders were observed entering and exiting an apartment door in the complex's atrium. Authorities have not released further details about the events leading up to the shooting or the identities of those involved.
