Ukrainian Forces Target Key Russian Military and Oil Infrastructure
Ukrainian drone strikes have targeted Russian military camps associated with the Bucha massacre, along with oil facilities deep inside Russia, as part of a continued offensive to disrupt logistics and command structures.
Ukrainian drone operations have hit significant Russian military infrastructure, including training grounds linked to the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which was involved in the Bucha massacre. Reports indicate that strikes on May 30 concentrated on locations in occupied Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, confirming 21 hits on military targets with reported Ukrainian losses of 31 personnel from the brigade.
Ukrainian military sources confirmed that a dual-layered assault also affected infrastructure in Taganrog, a port city in Rostov Oblast, where damage to oil facilities was reported following overnight drone strikes. Local officials noted fires caused by the attacks, which resulted in minor injuries. The Ukrainian military has increased strikes on oil infrastructure within Russia and occupied territories, reportedly targeting facilities involved in oil refining and military logistics.
Additionally, Ukraine executed drone strikes on the Saratov oil refinery, vital for the Russian military's logistics, with significant damage reported following multiple waves of attacks. Russia's Defense Ministry acknowledged that air defenses intercepted numerous incoming drones, yet declared the refinery site suffered damage. The strategic use of drones has allowed Ukraine to strike targets well beyond the front lines, with recent operations indicating a notable increase in operational depth.
In a complementary operation, Ukrainian drones have reportedly taken control over key military supply routes in occupied Luhansk Oblast, further emphasizing their expanding operational capacity. Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi stated that Ukrainian UAVs are now effectively monitoring and targeting Russian positions, indicating a shift in the battlefield dynamics.
