President Trump Declared in Excellent Health by Doctor Following Annual Exam

Résumé

US President Donald Trump is reported to be in excellent health after his annual medical examination, with results indicating he is fit for all presidential duties.

US President Donald Trump is in excellent health, according to his physician, Capt. Sean Barbabella, who released a memo following Trump’s annual medical exam. The assessment, conducted at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, found Trump, who will turn 80 next month, to have strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function, confirming he is fully fit to perform his duties as Commander-in-Chief.

The memo indicated that Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a common cognitive health test. While he has gained 14 pounds since April 2025, Barbabella provided guidance on diet and physical activity to promote continued weight loss. Notably, Trump’s cardiac age was estimated to be about 14 years younger than his actual age.

Concerns regarding Trump's health were raised last year due to observations of bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs. Barbabella noted remnants of slight leg swelling; however, he reported an improvement from the previous year. The bruising was attributed to minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes, and Trump continues to take aspirin as well as two cholesterol control medications while being up to date on preventive screenings.

In discussions regarding his health practices, Trump revealed he has taken higher doses of aspirin for many years, favoring a daily intake of 325 mg over the commonly recommended 81 mg. He has also expressed disinterest in regular exercise aside from playing golf, stating that traditional workouts bore him.
