Martina McBride and The Commodores Withdraw from ‘Great American State Fair’

Martina McBride and the funk group The Commodores have become the latest performers to withdraw from the upcoming 'Great American State Fair', which is part of the Trump administration's 'Freedom 250' celebrations. With these recent departures, only five of the nine acts initially scheduled to participate remain.

In a statement, McBride expressed her concern about fans feeling abandoned, stating that she has always sung about real issues and people, and emphasized that her decision was not made lightly. The remaining performers include C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Flo Rida, and Bret Michaels. C+C Music Factory had considered withdrawing due to backlash over their participation but ultimately decided to stay.

The Great American State Fair is a free event, although attendees are encouraged to register for tickets in advance. As part of the broader 'Freedom 250' initiative celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, the fair will also feature speeches, aerial displays, and a fireworks finale, according to the organizers. Concurrently, a 'Power To The People Festival' featuring numerous prominent artists will take place in Maryland in October, with tickets starting at $125.
