Israel Increases Military Action Against Hezbollah Amid Diplomatic Efforts

Ամփոփում

Amid escalating tensions, Israel has intensified its strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, while U.S. officials indicate progress towards a peace deal with Iran.

Israel has ramped up its military operations against Hezbollah, targeting over 100 sites associated with the militant group across Lebanon on Tuesday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to “increase the blows” against Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran. The Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for Nabatieh, a major city in southern Lebanon, as airstrikes were anticipated.

Strikes also impacted the town of Mashghara in the Bekaa Valley, resulting in at least 11 fatalities, including two children, as reported by Lebanon’s health ministry. An Israeli military representative stated that recent actions were focused on infrastructure sites used by Hezbollah. Netanyahu declared in a video statement that, “We are at war with Hezbollah,” emphasizing a strategy to intensify military efforts.

This recent escalation follows a series of exchanges that began in March, coinciding with a U.S.-Israeli offensive against Iran. Although a cease-fire was established in April, both parties have engaged in ongoing attacks, each alleging violations of the accord. The current violence intensifies as U.S. President Trump and Iranian officials suggest movement toward a potential agreement aimed at resolving the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
