US and Iran Near Agreement to End Conflict, Trump Says

President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Iran are approaching an agreement to end the ongoing conflict, with final negotiations underway.

"I will only sign a deal where we get everything we want," Trump stated, emphasizing that any agreement must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that the US and Iranian positions have been converging over the past week. He noted that the initial framework under discussion does not include nuclear weapons, with plans to finalize a memorandum of understanding consisting of 14 points.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed cautious optimism, indicating that there could be news within the next couple of days but couldn't be certain. He emphasized the US position that Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and discussed reopening the Strait of Hormuz without tolls from Iran.

The potential agreement follows a series of events, including the US blockade of Iranian ports since April 13 and the temporary ceasefire between Iran and the US that began in early April.

As negotiations continue, President Trump is expected to hold discussions with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan to further address the situation.
