The Chicago Bears have announced that they have exhausted all options to remain in Chicago and are now focusing on building a new stadium in either Arlington Heights, Illinois, or Hammond, Indiana.

"The Chicago Bears have exhausted every opportunity to stay in Chicago, which was our initial goal," the team stated. "There is not a viable site in the city. As a result, the only sites under consideration are in Arlington Heights and Hammond."

This decision follows extensive evaluations of potential sites within Chicago, including the Museum Campus, which was deemed financially unfeasible due to the need for public funding and state support.

In contrast, the Arlington Heights location offers the opportunity for a stadium as part of a larger mixed-use development, making it a more sustainable long-term solution.

Indiana lawmakers have also made significant progress in negotiations to potentially entice the NFL team to relocate across the state border.

The Bears have played at Soldier Field for more than half a century.

The team plans to update the NFL on the status of the Arlington Heights and Hammond sites at the league's quarterly meeting in Orlando.
