Aaron Rodgers Re-Signs with Pittsburgh Steelers on One-Year Contract

Résumé

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2026 NFL season.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a one-year contract to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2026 NFL season. The deal is reportedly worth up to $25 million, including a base salary between $22 and $23 million, with additional incentives.

Rodgers, 42, led the Steelers to an AFC North division title last season, completing 327 of 498 passes (65.7%) for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

This agreement reunites Rodgers with head coach Mike McCarthy, under whom he played for 13 seasons in Green Bay, winning Super Bowl XLV and earning two NFL MVP awards.

The Steelers' quarterback roster also includes veteran Mason Rudolph and recent draft picks Will Howard and Drew Allar. Rodgers' return is expected to provide leadership and mentorship to the younger quarterbacks as they develop their skills.

Pittsburgh's upcoming schedule features preseason games against the Green Bay Packers on August 13, the New York Jets on August 21, and the Buffalo Bills on August 27. The regular season opener is set for September 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.
