President Trump Meets with President Xi Jinping in Beijing Amidst Lavish Ceremonies

President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping convened in Beijing for a series of discussions, accompanied by prominent business leaders and marked by ceremonial events.

Upon arrival, President Trump was greeted with a gun salute and a tour of the 15th-century Temple of Heaven. He was joined by tech executives, including Tesla's Elon Musk and Nvidia's Jensen Huang, as well as his son, Eric Trump.

A banquet at the Great Hall of the People featured dishes such as lobster in tomato soup, Beijing roast duck, and pan-fried pork buns. Dessert options included trumpet shell-shaped pastry and tiramisu.

In his speech, President Xi described the visit as "historic," emphasizing that "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation" and "Make America great again" can complement each other. He highlighted the significance of China-US relations, stating they are "the most important bilateral relations in the world," affecting "the well-being of the two countries of 1.7 billion population, and the interests of over 8 billion people in the world."

President Trump expressed gratitude for the "magnificent welcome like no other" and invited President Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, to visit the White House on September 24.

The banquet was attended by figures such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Eric and Lara Trump. Elon Musk was accompanied by his son, X Æ A-12.

Earlier, President Trump was welcomed at the Great Hall of the People, where he and President Xi inspected Chinese troops and were greeted by children waving flags and bouquets.

The delegation included top US business leaders like Tim Cook, Elon Musk, and Larry Fink of BlackRock. Jensen Huang of Nvidia was reportedly a last-minute addition.

During their talks, President Xi noted that "the whole world is watching our meeting," acknowledging the accelerating global transformations and turbulent international situation. President Trump remarked on their ability to resolve difficulties, stating, "We've gotten along, when there were difficulties we worked it out. I would call you and you would call me. People don't know, whenever we had a problem we worked it out very quickly."
