Warner Bros. Discovery Addresses Potential Final Upfront Amid Paramount Merger

摘要

Warner Bros. Discovery's ad sales leaders acknowledged the company's potential final Upfront presentation due to the impending $111 billion merger with Paramount.

During Warner Bros. Discovery's recent Upfront presentation at New York's Theater at Madison Square Garden, U.S. advertising sales presidents Bobby Voltaggio and Ryan Gould addressed the company's forthcoming $111 billion merger with Paramount. Voltaggio humorously remarked, "Good partnership is what drives us here at Warner Bros. Discovery, so before we go on, we do want to address the Ellison — I mean the elephant — in the room." Gould added, "Listen, we don't deflect, that's not who we are. Everyone here knows that there's change ahead and that there's change at our company. But there's change across the entire media industry. And we're well aware that your business is changing, too. But we believe that success is a team effort, so our best-in-class organization, the team and people you know and trust so well, are here to help guide you through this transition." Voltaggio concluded, "You see, we've been through change and challenges before, we don't flinch, we meet the moment and continue to push forward in your best interests." The merger, valued at $111 billion, has been approved by Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders and is pending regulatory review. Paramount CEO David Ellison has committed to producing a minimum of 30 theatrical films annually and emphasized job preservation. However, the deal has faced skepticism from state attorneys general, political figures, and industry professionals. Ellison's engagement with President Trump regarding the merger, which includes news channel CNN, has also raised concerns. The merger is anticipated to close by the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
